I made this tonight! I made a few substitutions to create a healthier bread: Stevia for the sugar, half a tablespoon of butter and half a cup of plain nonfat Greek yogurt instead of the oil, and 4 tablespoons of applesauce for one egg (so applesauce substitution + 1 egg). Then, instead of melting the butter for the glaze, I used nonfat Greek yogurt and 2 teaspoons of maple syrup. Everything else was the same. This is SO delicious and INCREDIBLY moist! This is my 3rd time baking bread (first 2 were Gemma's Irish bread), and Gemma's recipes are a true success. I definitely don't regret starting my fall baking with this bread, thank you!

This has become a tradition in my home now, I made it every year and bake it as a gift for my friends and they have loved it, the only thing I haven mastered is the frosting it doesn't harden but is still delicious!

This recipe came out beautifully! I even made a mistake and left out the milk and it was still absolutely beautiful! Perfect crumb, prefect moistness and flavor, like I could even believe I made something so nice and it wasn’t from the bakery. Thank u Gemma!! 💗💗💗

Gemma, I tried your recipe just made two loaves of bread ,
I must say that this is the best pumpkin bread recipe and I like that you showed egg substitute while using eggs that made my work easy and ended up making it.My family loved it so much. Thank you

Just tried this, it tastes amazing! I will definitely use less sugar next time, it is quite sweet. Here are the ingredients from her website to make it easier for everyone when you try it:
Ingredients
1 cup (8oz/225g) pumpkin puree
1 1/2 cups (12oz/340g) sugar
1/2 cup (4floz/115ml) vegetable oil
1/3 cup (2 1/2floz/71ml) milk
2 eggs*
1 3/4 cups (9oz/255g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

For the Glaze:
1/2 cup (4oz/115g) butter
1 cup (4oz/115g) powdered sugar (start with one cup and add more if glaze is too runny)
2 tablespoons maple syrup

Gemma, I just want to thank you for a wonderful recipe. I was cleaning out my pantry and came across a can of pumpkin I had bought last year and never used- and I thought- why not find a pumpkin bread recipe and use it? It turned out fantastic. I think the milk makes a huge difference, to be honest.

Gemma, I've adored your channel for some time now, but last night I tried this recipe. I had recently toasted pumpkin seeds/pepitas in butter and cinnamon sugar which I added to the top of the glaze while still wet. It came out GORGEOUS and the added crunch was AMAZING. This is my go-to pumpkin bread now. Can't wait to bring this to holiday gatherings! Just TRY and call this pumpkin basic!

Everyone in our family loved this pumpkin bread. Thank you; what a wonderful recipe. The only changes I made with second one: 1. I added about 1/3 cup of dried cranberries in bread. 2. I used softened (not melted) butter for icing, and waited for bread to completely cool before putting icing on.

I just made your pumpkin bread today. Oh my goodness, moist and delicious. I used pumpkin puree from Long Island Cheese pumpkins that I grew organically. I knew I had to try your recipe. So glad I did.❤ Glad I made two loaves.
