Jon, do better research. Tesla didn’t invent the single blade windshield wiper because years ago I owned an E-series Mercedes sedan with a single blade wiper operated by a cam. It cleaned the windshield so much better than two blades. While it cleaned much closer to the edge of windshield, I really didn’t need these areas for safe driving. Subsequent years they abandoned the design probably due to cost and maintenance problems. Mine never required service over 3 year vehicle lease. I know Tesla’s linear motion is a different design and that’s why it got a patent.

I'm a non-believer on flying or hovering. You can explore 60's, weight with batteries probably close to those weights from the era as well. I have a early Cyber Truck and love Tesla, but I just don't see anyway it's possible to hover or fly without something like fusion power.

Single front windshield wiper is not new in the auto industry.

If it can fly a little or more precisely hover just above the surface, .... then it will escape all the technical /legal/practical implications that might follow but can be immensely useful in avoiding sticky situation on the ground like crossing a deep muddy pit or just cross a rocky terrain in relatively easy manner without any damage being inflicted on vehicle !
Elon is smart and I can easily see huge potential in various practical situations even if it can barely stay afloat for a minute or two in one go !

A hovering roadster is just like model X wing doors. It strikes imaginations, but the complexity is a source of problems for no real purpose. It s all marketing, withsles and bells.
