The Real Reason(s) 'The Muppets' Was Cancelled

Even to this day, 2 years later, I'm still really pissed the Muppets was cancelled. I remember my family, every Tuesday night, we would sit down and watch the Muppets. It was one of the few shows on ABC that everyone in the family could enjoy, kids and adults.

I expected it to suck because it was filmed in "the office" format. But I thought it was just as good as the original Muppet Show. Shocked to hear it's gone :(

This sort of reminds me of what happened to Adventure Time and Regular Show on Cartoon Network when Christina Miller became the CEO. She pushed the shows that were aimed at older kids off the schedule for ones that were newer and skewered towards older kids such as The Amazing World of Gumball and most notably Teen Titans Go! It got to the point where the schedule of the channel was comprised of nothing but the latter show, sometimes being the only thing they aired that day. The only difference is that unlike what happened in this situation, she did not cancel Adventure Time and Regular Show and that they came back thanks to fan protest.
I also read on ABC's website that this was supposed to be a one season thing, so I wasn't surprised. After all, they're making more interesting new shows such as Downward Dog (life from the point of view of a dog sounds fun!) and Imaginary Mary (I'm guessing that this was made to hop on the "imaginary friend that helps a character" trend that Inside Out made popular. Although shows like Arthur and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends did this beforehand, Inside Out boosted an interest in imaginary friends in pop culture, just as how The Little Mermaid resulted in a mermaid craze in the 90's). Oh, and there's that Wizard of Oz show on NBC that's interesting...

The MOM organization that complained about it are hypocrites. They said it looked like a children's show because of the Muppets but had adult themes. So then why don't they go after Family Guy and Simpsons. Those are cartoons with adult themes. Organizations that push their agenda onto others really gets me mad. What ever happened to parents just controlling what their kids watch? If you watch the original Muppet Show, it was very adult oriented.
