No UX/UI Jobs?

There might be fewer UX/UI jobs available in Tech companies today, especially compared to the supply of new designers in the field. However, there’s still plenty of opportunity in the digital design space.

I agree, I got made redundant as a uxui designer and I have experience and I can't even get a interview. Ux has turned into more writing and research, less of design.

I totally agree. It’s extremely difficult and I recently started learning web design. But the future holds for creatives who can diversify with varying skill sets like research, IOT, systems thinking, services, management and digital and physical design.

Very difficult. You need a bit of luck and possibly an internship. A lot of companies don't allocate large budgets for true UX. To be honest, web isn't too much easier.

Partially agree. I got a job as a UX designer at a huge tech company right out of college (not a bootcamp), but I have to give some credit to my school for holding events that brought industry folks to us. I think it's more about networking, not linkedin, but like face to face events. That said, whether or not you'll enjoy that job once you get it is whole other story. I really didn't like mine, so I left and became a freelancer which I found more fulfilling.

This isn’t really true in full. If you’re fresh outta a bootcamp then yeah you’re in for more of a hard time because of a few different reasons. One of them being that you’re working on the same portfolio piece everyone else in that bootcamp and some others are too, with that being said millions of people do it every day. Grind out

Maybe you're right Ran but there's so much of competition in freelancing as well. I love UX UI but the hardest part I think is to make a full career in it.

This is for every tech jobs. Writing jobs disappeared. Designer job's have so competition 😢

Many people are fearful of freelancing since it does not offer the same protections as a W2. You also automatically forfeit eligibility for unemployment benefits.

I've been following your page for the past 8 or so years when you used to go for client meetings on your bike.

Now I'm a senior UI/UX designer for one of the largest gaming companies in the world, and although I love the job I'm looking to move elsewhere.

Even with the experience I am struggling to get interviews in the UI/UX space at the moment. There are not that many well paid openings available currently.

What about all the AI tools generating “cheap websites” why would someone pay for a freelancer. Do you think you would now need to target more professional or enterprise web clients?
