Fun Fact about group B's Inception :

Group B was not only a rally series but a road series also, as it was to **Limit** the insanity of its **wilder** widebody road racing predecessor - the "OG" Widebodies : Group 5 Special Production

And cars like the 961 (based on the 959), the F40 and its predecessor, 288 Evo are originally meant for circuit Group B that got scrapped due to Safety concerns of its rally counterpart

The car that burst into flames as it slides of the road is Marc Surer in a RS200 at the 1986 Hessen Rally. The turn is actually flat out but he picked up a slow puncture hence he slid off the road and hit a tree. The tree was on the driver side but he survived with major burns and 14 broken bones. His Co-Driver, Michel Wyder, on the other hand sadly didn't survive the crash.
