As we get a little bit older and not so nimble, not keen on having to walk out on the trailer and climb up onto the bow of the boat. Especially if it is wet with dew or has been raining. Can be very slippery.
Much prefer to hold the bow line and push the boat off the trailer and then walk it over to the jetty.
If you have a boat that does not slide easily off the trailer, I find a slight touch of the brakes as the trailer enters the water will usually free it up enough to push it off. ( with the bow line from the boat tied to winch post on the trailer as a precaution )
That's how I launch my boat anyway.

Thing I need to practice most before my first launch is just reversing with a trailer. I don't mind if I look inexperienced when I'm at the ramp, as long as I don't look completely useless 🤣

This won’t work for me. I can’t access the cab from the bow. I can’t walk through my screen :/

All very good if there isn't a lot of vehicles waiting to launch.

Nice looking location. Where is it? Hawkesbury somewhere?

hi, about to purchase my first boat and launching it is a real fear factor for me, great channel by the way . question is how slippery are these ramps normally and do I need to upgrade to a 4wd to launch a boat? I'm concerned of not getting traction and sliding into the drink. its probably a stupid question..
