I leveled drain tanking. Never ran out of mana and was generally never in danger unless I was careless. Killed mobs pretty quick to.

I prefer corruption and suppression first then go into the improved walker tree either way it’s a good choice

Note - I'm gonna be on a pvp server for classic so my philosophy is gonna be a little dif for leveling than yours.

I start with 5/5 imp corr, then 2/2 life tap. After that u can go 2 ways to go for imp void immediately: 3/5 demonic embrace and then 2/2 imp health stone, or just 5/5 embrace and then go right into 3/3 imp void.

After that I actually stay in demo tree for a bit longer just to get master summ and then demonic sac. This is where I switch to afflic.

I usually go soul link for leveling as I'm gonna be solo alot of the time, I can duo with a healer friend irl but we won't be able to always level and play together so this is optimized for solo play. And again, it's gonna be on a pvp server so being extra tanky and having demo sac and master summ will be good for those random WPVP scenarios and random ganks, which is also why I'd go 2/2 imp health stone early on. You still get 5/5 demonic embrace anyway but the imp h.s is nice for early levels and everywhere after.

After demo sac I move back into afflic and get 3/5 suppression, 2/2 drain soul, amp curse, 3/3 imp corr. At this point you should be level 45 and then I literally respec to full Soul Link build. I like doing this at 45 bc u can also get 5/5 imp corr for insta corruption and full soul link build. Then u can build NF/SL til 60 then respec for raids or pvp if u wish.

There's also another build path u can go like 7/31/13 for some destro talents with SL for better damage and Shadowburn, but again it's up to u

Main goal for this *leveling* build is being tanky on t there in azeroth to survive WPVP and ganks. Noone wants to fight a SL warlock lol

Please note this guide isn't for fast leveling, it's just his take on what he thinks is well rounded. This appears to be a single target guide but most people will be multi target.

Little extra tidbit. If you order your voidwalker to stand still and then run away from it you get the soulshard back. Combined with the free voidwalker from the lvl50 trinket this means a free shard every 30 minutes.

5/5 imp corruption is not even up for debate. you get it asap. also facepalm on skipping nightfall because "you pull aggro" xD
by the same logic you shouldn't stack +dmg on gear because you will aggro mobs easier.

Idk how your VW is holding aggro. Even when taunt it active, +3 talent, wait few seconds until he has aggro and I try just 1 DoT+wand I still get aggro...

The reason everyone else talks about getting spirit gear is because they get imp drain soul, which increases your mana regen by 100%....so more spirit=more mana regen + imp drain soul = x 100% of whatever your spirit mana regen is. You talk about using life tap so much, but I can tell you from experience that with alot of spirit and imp drain soul, I never had to use life tap because my mana regen so well, and I was chain pulling non stop. So full mana at the loss of health or full mana with super fast regen and no loss of health...yeah I know which I will choose.
