Look Song Hye Kyo had grown up in one of the richest area in Korea Gangnam with a single mother, and had to start working like really early. She has been quite lonely and she has always craved for father's love. On the other hand SJK has grown up with his family and is extremely close to his cousins and extended families. SHK found a companion in SJK, but family wise they are very different. And in Asian countries even now, marriage is not just between two people like in Europe and America. It is between two families. So when they say personality differences, that's definitely quite a big reason. The way they were raised are quite different. People say SJK's family found Hye Kyo quite cold and distant. She would not even attend his relatives'wedding ceremonies. Not her fault, maybe she likes to keep to herself and her company of friends. Besides she's always a workaholic kind of a person so she would be abroad working. But that's okay till dating. Marriage is waaay different than dating. Plus their families never had that bond either which is supposed to be between two familes of married couples. SJK shouldn't have rushed the divorce either. Not hating anyone. Still love them though. ❤️

I feel bad that SHK got most of the blame for their divorce. Some people are just introverts (part of their personality) so you can’t blame them for not being “social.”
But it really is tasteless to talk badly about an ex no matter how bad the relationship is. Unless s/he is abusing you. SJK must have really been angry with her to come out at her like that.
Anyhow. Regardless of how it ended, I hope they can find happiness.

It's just a difference in personality. It's been said that SJK has a very outgoing and social personality. While, SHK is the complete opposite and prefers to stay indoors and doesn't really like being around so many people. And that's because of the way they were raised.

SJK was raised in a very close-knit household, where everyone is close to one another. While, SHK grew up in a single parent household and started working when she was very young.

SJK reminds me of my cousin and they even have the same vibe. My cousin can NOT stay in indoors for even one week. And that was the reason why he broke up with his girlfriend, because she was the complete opposite and didn't like going out too much. When the pandemic lockdown started, he was going crazy because he couldn't go out.

In the end, you just have to find someone who is compatible with you. I felt that they rushed into the marriage through being attracted to each other's beauty, before really getting to know one another on a personal level. Which they found out after living with together.

Hell, the ex husband SJK divorce her on the media without telling her, she was filming drama Encounter in other country and actually said in interview that she plan to have a children (of course with her then husband). But little did she know, she got divorce paper when she came back to korea.

Song Jong Ki went to all media how he was sad and the divorce broke him that he felt he would never love again. Going to variety shows, selling his cheap narratives while SHK never said anything on media about the divorce or her feeling. She just completely shut her self.
While the divorce happen, SJK's father apologized to Song Hye Kyo personally and to her family, about what his son did to her. (But media still blaming SHK, saying that bcs she 's still active as actrees that she didn't want children that she didn't obey the husband)

Anyway, now we found out that SJK actually dating his now gf/wife couple months after the divorce, while still selling his narrative on media how broken heart he is.

It feels like he purposely saying how broke he is so that the media point out the fault at song hye kyo.

I honestly lost a lot of respect for Joong Ki when he announced their impending divorce like that. If you know about Korean culture, it's something very intentionally done. I don't know if he was cosplaying the victim or what truly happened to end their marriage, but he did it on purpose. What he should have done is organized a joint statement with Hye Kyo's PR team to avoid drama.
