Another version/meaning of the Mary Mary Quite Contrary is that the rhyme is actually about Mary, Queen of Scots. The "how does your garden grow" referring to her reign over her realm, "silver bells" referring to the bells of Catholic cathedral bells, "pretty maids all in a row" referring to her ladies-in-waiting, the "silver bells" are said to "refer to the elaborate decoration on
her dresses", and the "cockle shells" to her love of exotic food such as cockles.

The actual meaning of “London Bridge Of Falling Down” means that the Queen is dying. The phrase, “the London bridge has fallen down” is a code phrase in Britain on radio for “the Queen is dead”.

‘ Oh Mary, contrary, how does your garden grow?
“Come with me I can’t see anywhere that we could go.”
Their answer was laughter, as darkness swallowed them up.
“One more time, I’ll be fine, sometimes kindness is enough.” ‘

Actually, it is originated from the ‘Great Bubonic Plague’
Ring a ring o’ rosie refers to the rosie red rings that appeared on your skin
Pocket full o’ posies refers to the herbs and plants people put in their pockets to ‘ward off the plague’
A-tishu A-tishu refers to the sneezing people did before they died
And of course
We all fall down refers to death.

There’s been multiple different versions of this, one of which says ‘ashes ashes’ instead of ‘a-tishu’
The verse that says ‘Ashes, Ashes’ refers to the burning of the dead bodies

There is also another version, ‘Hush hush, Hush hush’ instead of ‘a-tishu’
Hush hush, Hush hush, refers to the parents comforting the children when someone died, moments of silence.

The ‘falling down’ part was not part of the original one, it was added later on.
