There is the initial, "I'm gonna have to get going soon." About half an hour to 45 minutes passes. That is when you get up and say, "Welp, it's about time to go." Then all parties stand and the process of talking and simultaneously inching towards the door begins. This can take quite a while, depending on what the conversation is about. When all parties are finally at or adjacent to the door, the first round of official goodbyes begin. A professional can make it out during the first round of goodbyes, but amateurs get sucked back in. This can indeed take hours lol
