this theory is further enforced when jade gives cat a coloring book and tells her to “color the pretty tiger” when cat started talking about her brother. it’s a coping mechanism

Do y’all remember when she was living in school because her family left her for two years for her brother?? and her aunt and uncle were crazy so she lived at school.. but then Jade figured it out for her and got Cat to live with her grandma. Then, in Sam and cat her grandma left her to go to an elderly retirement center!! so she had to live alone with Sam and make money to pay for her own stuff WHILE she was still in school? Damn Cats life is so messed up.

I just love how Beck just doesn't seem to care that Cat is the way she is. He still treats her like a normal person

I remember there was an episode where Cat mentioned that her brother fell out of a hotel window and was seriously messed up afterwards. I wonder if that's why he acts so weird.

All the main characters have quite dark/upsetting backstories (except for Beck). I’d honestly love to hear the psychology in every character!

I don’t get the impression from any of these characters that their parents are any good. Beck lives in a trailer to avoid his dad (whom we never see), Cat winds up homeless and staying at the school because her parents abandoned her and her aunt moved without telling her where, Jade’s dad seems like a judgmental a hole, we never see or have André and Robbie’s parents referenced. The only parents we see are Tori and Trina’s mom and dad, who are quite possibly the worst people you’ve ever met. It’s a wonder any of these kids are as well adjusted as they are.

Here are some things to prove that Cat is emotionally damaged:

The thing that inspired her red hair (it's obviously not naturally red), was blood from when her brother smashed glass on her head and she liked the color.

Whenever Cat talks about her brother, Jade always gives her something else as a distraction. Like a coloring book, cereal, keys, anything.

How when Beck and Jade were fighting, Cat covered her ears and yelled, "I'm under my bed!"

I'm pretty sure there's more, but I can't remember.

There is an episode where Jade and Beck are fighting and cat is saying "I'm under my bed"

I noticed that Jade has had a closer connection to Cat than anyone else throughout the series.

Don’t forget the moment where Jade and Beck are arguing and Cat covers her head and says “I’m under my bed, I’m under my bed” meaning she probably has trauma from either her parents arguing with each other or them arguing with her brother

This proves that the “happiest” person in the group is the most depressed person.

Also don’t forget that one time when beck and jade were arguing in the cleaners room and cat was un the middle of them and they were screaming at each other and cat covered her ears and said “I’m under my bed I’m under my bed!”
That’s actually sad and concerning when you think about it cause she might’ve heard her parents argue about her brother or about each other.
