It must be quite surprising when you look at the Engine and then quickly realize how nimble this CRX is. Honda are big believers in Power/Weight Ratio!

This review puts another's side to it that most aren't aware of. The handling on most older Hondas are superb, which includes it's double wishbone suspension setup. Like the saying goes if you can't be fast with 90hp what makes you think you can be fast with 400hp.

I've owned a 1991 CRX and a couple of Miatas. At the end I would've traded my Miata for another CRX. I really miss the CRX. What a GREAT car. I drove all over the USA in that CRX.

Both of my brothers had these cars growing up, my oldest brother made his quick and my younger brother bagged his and was about the looks. They were fun cars and hard to find one today that isnt just destroyed...thanks for the vid dave, great memories :)

Regarding the transmission synchro grinding, Honda called for 10W30 motor oil as the transmission oil. However, today's 10W30 oil doesn't work well because the formulas have changed.

I used to get grinds in virtually all gears in my 1990 Si (mine since 1991) even with fairly gentle, slow shifting until I switched to an actual manual transmission oil (Penzoil Synchromesh). Now it shifts smoothly and quietly. Give it a try!

I actually just picked up my first car, it being a 1989 CRX Si. It is an amazing car to drive. It is 100x more fun than even a 2011 Mini Cooper. I would recommend a CRX to anyone that wants a small fun car.
