Nobody seems to pick up on that master kenobi told sidious he'd beat anakin way back on general grievous's ship. Not in exact words but he told palpatine "sith lords are our specialty" Kenobi had already beaten maul and grievous by the time that he faced Vader. Master kenobi also had the most experience in duels against sith. He faced maul as a padawan, dooku multiple times and sparred with anakin countless times. His specialty was quite literally dueling sith lords.

Anakin may be the Chosen One, but he's not the Obi One.

The character of Obi-wan is one of the best fictional figures you could look up to. He wasn't especially gifted but because of hard work and dedication, he was a force to be reckoned with. And his determination to always do the right thing and fight temptation is a good example for anyone.

Everything that happened in the clone wars went exactly how Sidious wanted it to (the parts he cared about that is). Apart from Obi-wan right at the end, handicapping his perfect little plan, and ensuring the safety of Luke. He's the only one that so genuinely inconvenienced and undermined Sidious' intellect and scheming

Considering how many headaches Obi-Wan caused Palpatine I am kinda surprised Palpatine didn't decide to deal with him personally.

Remember at the start of phantom menace he sensed a plot to kill the Jedi, this was brushed aside by qui gon as not in the moment. But actually this plot was unfolding at the exact time and missed by all other Jedi. Obi was always under rated in always.

In sheer power, Obi-Wan started out as weak, lacking natural talent like Anakin has but he compensated it by working hard and adapting and surviving challenges to become one of the last Jedi Council Members

Obi-Wan kept facing foes that’s more gifted or stronger than him, he at times survive those battles by adapting and using skill and strategy to win

For young Vader, Obi-Wan despite being outclassed in power level, knew Anakin’s techniques and knew how to counter him and prolong fight until he could strike him when he’s overconfident

The best example of his focus is every time he says “I will do as I must” he does exact;y that. He sets himself firmly in the light side of the force and focusses all of his ability and purpose on achieving that one, specific goal. He isn’t emotionally distraught or torn in a thousand different directions, nor worrying about any other issue. He achieves his goal and then goes about his business, humbly and without fanfare. He is a fantastic Jedi Master, truly worthy of the title in all aspects.

Not only did obi-wan defeat anakin, he defeated three out of four of palpatine's apprentices. Darth maul, general grevious, and anakin. Dooku was the only one he couldn't beat.

Calling Obi-wan an average Jedi master is incredibly reductive and just seems wrong. I mean even if you just take the movies as a baseline he defeats Darth Maul as a padawan and destroys General Grievous. Those two accolades alone put him above all the Jedi save for Mace and Yoda, both much older than Obi-wan. This also isn't including his many feats throughout The Clone Wars.

I think many underestimated Obi-wan and even if is not the strongest force wise, he is perhaps the strongest mind in the trilogy in my opinion, very intelligent and incredible endurance.
And it seems like he uses his defensive and endurance skills mixed with jokes and others to create a emotional reaction which push them to be aggressive and drain the energy of his enemies will keeping defending while waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
The fact that he is underestimate could work in is favor too against a sith which would either surprise or enraged the enemy

Not sure why he thought so little of Obi Wan, the man bested both Maul and Grievous.

Well, Obi-Wan's teacher knew exactly that training is nothing and will is everything. The will to act.

The High Ground is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be... unnatural. & Obi wasn't average, he was good, it's only his power in the Force that were average+ at least (imo it's good too, not just avrge+)

I'll be completely honest when I say that Kenobi is the true image of how a Jedi should be. He is the example of what happens when you do it right. **Hello There**

Not sure anyone but Obi wan could have kept their composure, remained fearless and trusted the force after just losing the chosen one to the dark side. His lack of fear was enhanced by his sense of duty. It was his padawan. Anakin was torn between light and dark, Obi wan remained faithful.

Obi may have only had average connection to the force, but he trained for years with someone with far more raw ability than he had.

Let's see...this man who was so unremarkable he barely was even given a master and further training, went on to become the second greatest hero of all the clone wars (behind anakin himself), defeated the first sith in 1000 years, killed the most famed jedi killer in millenia, and then through the emotional turmoil of the genocide of his people, matches and defeats the chosen one, making him a shell of his former self

Obi-Wan was badass in ROTS.

I’ve always wondered what palpatine thought of obi wan
He was literally palpatines opposite when it comes to anakin
While palpatine was a father figure pulling him to the dark side
Obi wan was the literal opposite pulling anakin towards the light

With watching RosT - Obiwan coming into the final fight has just whitnessed the remains of the Jedi temple, Him and Yoda probably tried searching for survivors there, but only found bodies.
They reconfigured the emergency message to tell all other Jedi to hide and not to return to Corrisaunt, then found evidence that Palaptine and Anakin were the reason behind it. The two Jedi agreed on their, essenially, suicide plan. Yoda would only have a matter of minutes to engage Sidious before being swarmed by Guards and Obiwan was to face his Padalwan, who even he recognises as both stronger than himself and the one fortold to bring balance.
They had already lost, the Jedi had fallen and would continue to fall, these two were the last ones who were in any position to try and make things right, and the only way they could was to go in guns blazing and die upon the sword if need be.

I think Obiwan never expected to leave mustafar, he checks Padme once to ensure she is alive and doesn't look back at a life long friend, though he circles away from her, knowing Anakin will be the agressor and keeping her away from unwanted harm when the duel starts.

Isn't it also stated that Yoda fails to sense Obiwan until his ship is coming into land at the astroid station?
