Στο επεισόδιο αυτό της σειράς Close Ups, η Πολύνα Κοσμαδάκη, Επιμελήτρια Μοντέρνας και Σύγχρονης Τέχνης, Υπεύθυνη Τμήματος Ζωγραφικής, παρουσιάζει το έργο του Νικόλαου Γύζη “Αρχάγγελος. Σπουδή για τη Θεμελίωση της Πίστεως”, του 1895 .

Η σειρά CLOSE UPS ρίχνει φως σε αντικείμενα του Μουσείου Μπενάκη, τόσο μέσα από τις ιστορίες που τα ίδια αφηγούνται, όσο και από τις ιστορίες ανθρώπων που συνδέονται με αυτά. Αφηγητές στη σειρά είναι ο επιστημονικός διευθυντής και οι επιμελητές του Μουσείου και πρωταγωνιστές αντικείμενα που φιλοξενούνται στο Μουσείο Μπενάκη Ελληνικού Πολιτισμού. Η πρωτοβουλία ξεκίνησε από την επιθυμία όλων μας να βρεθούμε ξανά κοντά στο κοινό του Μουσείου Μπενάκη κατά την προσωρινή αναστολή της λειτουργίας του λόγω της πανδημίας.

In this episode of the Close Ups video series, Polina Kosmadaki, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Head of the Department of Paintings, Drawings and Prints, presents the Nikolaos Gyzis’ 1895 painting “Archangel. A Study for the Foundation of the Faith”.

The CLOSE UPS video series highlights fascinating stories behind objects at the Benaki Museum, as well as the people associated with them. In the videos of the series, hosted by the academic director and curators of the Museum, objects at the Benaki Museum of Greek Culture take centre stage. It is an initiative deriving from our strong wish to remain close to the public during the museum lockdown due to the pandemic, until we meet again at the Benaki Museum.
