That’s 2 locals. One white and one native. Nobody renting a 1994 Toyota Tercel. 😂

In all honesty, after living there, from I seen, most people don’t understand that these locals and especially Native Hawaiians, Kanaka Maoli, are taught their culture, history, and heritage just like US citizens are taught about the Civil War, and all of our history and stuff. Now you get tourist overstepping all the time, and sometimes even breaking in desecrating what locals know to be pretty much holy(sacred).

Doesn't the sign say "no trespassing" and "private property"? I think I'm missing something. Not to mention, that doesn't look like a tourists car.

Did the tourist rent that car from a local?

How’s the guy filming gaslighting the situation. Some many people treat our home like a theme park where they can do whatever they please, leave a mess and then go home. All we ask for is people to respect the land and our home, because they have a home they can go back to while our home was invaded and turned into a tourist attraction.

Should create local non profit groups for monitoring all the places we decide that is critical to our should pay to visit these sites

Aside from this situation, not to go unnoticed, is that there is the most reliable car ever made: 1991-1994 Toyota Tercel. Manual transmission/manual windows with no air conditioning, this little car absolutely cannot be killed. On that island, it has most likely already survived hurricanes, volcano eruptions, big waves, fires, and much much more! ….. ✌️ from Long Beach Ca USA 🇺🇸.

It's usually the other way around. Hotels funded by tourists are preventing locals from going certain places, posting private property signs etc

Used to go to Hawaii quite a bit. Stopped and have not gone in 11 years. Had enough of the locals being really rude to me based on I'm what they call a haole. Made worse by the fact my wife looks local HI.

KAPU.
Have some respect. Mainlanders visiting the islands are able to explore many many different hiking trails, and natural adventures. But there are some areas that are sacred, and only locals are allowed. Respect this. KAPU - Do Not Enter.

I’m from Hawaii but I’m not Hawaiian or anything but I can understand the sentiment. There’s a bunch of trails on private property and tourists always clog up residential spaces to get to the trails to a point where fire trucks and ambulances can’t get through. This is a VERY common problem here. And there’s not much the government can really do except put up signs that no one reads.

Hey recording dude. The Hawaiian in this video is blocking the driver because the person driving is not allowed in that area Hense private property no trespassing.
Kapu implies that the area is off limits it’s forbidden to you and sacred.
This man is protecting the local law in that area.
