Reimagining Sonic 06 for mobile - Ground Stomp Test

(If anyone is making their own game in unity and wants to know how any of this project works behind the scenes to potentially apply it to your own project. Leave a comment with what you'd like me to go over and ill try to create a tutorial like video for that aspect.)

Using Unity, I'm trying to create a reimagining of "Sonic 06" as a mobile game. This video shows testing the Ground stomp ability that will be an upgrade within the game.

(I'm not a programmer, so the gameplay is going to be pretty basic. but this project is definitely helping me learn)

If there's only horizontal movement how can sonic move foward then stop? I already had a feeling this shit looked fake but its more and more noticeable by each video
