WSL 2 GUI Setup and Config for Ubuntu on Windows 10

So you want to setup and Install WSL2? it's pretty easy, once you have done that, you may want to install and setup a graphical user interface (GUI) for Ubuntu 20.04 while using WSL 2 on a Windows 10 PC. I learned how to setup WSL2 with a GUI from David Bombals video, and Robin Kretzschmar article. Links to there sites can be found down below and on my website.

Thankyou, it has taken me a week to get to this.
I did follow David's video series on this, but it just didn't work when I got to the GUI part. Then did similar with other videos, just never getting a GUI login.
Maybe the big difference is that you took us to the login differently (localhost:port). I say 'maybe' because I am reluctant to mess with it now that it all works.

I don't lose your tutorials... but this one made me feel ashamed with my self because i suppose i have finished Networks Engineering and Developer university many years ago... so i didn't knew that... this blown my mind i didn't have a clue you can run ubuntu interface and shell into windows and with just one click you go back to windows and the opposite. Great video. Thanks. And for anyone like me who sets it up then walks away and comes back to a black screen, that's the xfce4 power saving settings for the display. Fix by stopping and starting the from a Ubuntu terminal. sudo service xrdp stop && sudo service xrdp start (I guess restart might work). Then go into power saving settings and set display to Never. Cheers.
