This reminds me of a Doria, which is a really popular "western" Japanese meal. I had chicken doria while in Japan, which is rice baked with creamy sauce, cheese, and chicken on top. It's a very comforting meal that I now make at home. I could see this being equally as comforting.

I loved this during the pandemic. I was too anxious eating uncooked stuff during the pandemic but I loved sushi. I’m half Japanese so I can’t live without sushi lol The existence of baked sushi was a blessing.
