Braveheart 1995
William Wallace is the medieval Scottish patriot who is spurred into revolt against the English when the love of his life is slaughtered. I watched this when I was still pretty young and didn’t understand what was happening but even then I could feel the anguish between the bride and her lover. It’s one of the most memorable scenes in the whole movie

Beauty is just too small a word for this scene and the actress' portrayal. Just heart wrenching, and the actress chosen has the perfect facial features to portray every emotion and also looks like a painting of a woman from that time. That bit was just art on film instead of a canvas.

too me the most heart breaking scene in brave heart was when that English magistrate publicly executed Murron with her looking around at the woods in tears for her husband who never came too save her. 😢

If you think about it logically, no King with his head on straight would keep a lord who abducted and raped the new wife of one of his subjects. Exiled and blacklisted in an instant, if not beheaded. (I say 'with his head on straight' because, of course, rulers existed on a spectrum)
