Neat video! Thanks for sharing it with us.
For a long time I've been thinking about buying a side cutter because it's a lot easier than dragging my old serger out of the closet. Most of my machines have zigzag and stretch stitches so the serger doesn't get much use. I have a sweet little 158-1040 also, a 158-1400, a 158-1880 and a modern Brother VQ3000. They're all low shank except the 1880 which, as I'm sure you know, is a high shank. Are you able to tell me if the cutter would work on the 1880? And by any chance did you buy your side cutter from Sewing Machines Plus here in the States?
