The reason why people are told to avoid all tree nuts even if your allergic to only one specific kind is because they are all in the same plant family. Peanuts are in the legume family and are related to peas/beans.

i have a tree nut allergy and i can eat almonds, but not cashews and pistachios. have been too scared to try any others but i love hazel nut flavor

I’m allergic too peanuts and I have a eppypen yea it can be true you can’t have peanuts in the house with someone allergic or there throat will close and you will need the eppypen to save there life
