Virginia Tech vs. Miami Game Highlights | 2024 ACC Football

The Virginia Tech Hokies and the #7 Miami Hurricanes played a Friday night thriller with Miami winning 38-34 at home. Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward threw for 343 yards and 4 touchdowns and he rushed for 57 additional yards and another touchdown in the win. Miami WR Elijah Arroyo had a team-high 88 yards receiving and a touchdown. Xavier Restrepo caught 5 passes for 60 yards and Jacolby George caught 4 balls for 59 yards and a touchdown. Hokies quarterback Kyron Drones threw for 2 touchdowns on the night and running back Bhayshul Tuten rushed 19 times for 141 yards including a 55-yard touchdown.

Miami vs VT games are always great games, down to the wire. The ball was moving when he hit the ground. He didn't complete the catch all the way through the ground. You can see it moving on replay with a miami defenders hand on it. I think it's a stupid rule, but it is what it is. That's the rule

Refs stoled a TD from us in the beginning on that flop that turned the game around for VT 🤦‍♂️. But made the right called at the end n didn't rob us from a win 💯. Shoutout to VT for a tough game tho. At the end of the day It's All About The 🙌🏼

Everyone saying Miami sucks after this game don't realize this is a rivalry game that goes back to the Big East days. These games are always closer than they should be because of that. Tech also has a history of showing up in big games. Look at 2014 when they beat Ohio State who wound up winning the first CFP title

Miami played sloppy last night! The Canes almost lost. VA Tech's QB knew Cam Ward! So, they both knew each other's game. That's why the game was so close.

Virginia Tech is 5-0 right now if their coaching staff wasn't complete garbage. Say what you will about getting robbed on the final play, the reality is it shouldn't have come to that. Tech should have been leading 37-35 at that point but weren't because their coaching staff gifted Miami a free three points at the end of the first half by calling a time out with 25 secs on the clock then squib kicking to an All American kick returner, and cost themselves 3 points by running a garbage fake instead of kicking a field goal that would have put them up by three scores after Kaleb Spencer's interception. And lets not even talk about that garbage ass clock management on the final drive either.

But I'll also give a lot of credit to Miami here too, Cam Ward showed why he's gonna be an NFL QB because he bounced back from those turnovers like it was nothing. You can't teach that. Case in point, his opponent today, Kyron Drones, threw one pick and basically stopped playing for a quarter until Mose Phillips got the Hokies back in the game with a pick on Ward right as Miami was probably gonna be up 21-7.

Fun fact: the head referee, Jerry Magallanes, was also a referee for the infamous Miami-Duke game in 2015 where he and the other referees were suspended two games due to making tons of errors on the final play of that game where Miami used 8 laterals to win

Nice editing, ACC. You totally missed the story line at the ending when the Hokies were awarded a game-winning TD, but it was reversed without seeing conclusive evidence to overturn the call on the field.

Go cane's been a fan 43 yrs but that game was too close but vt forearm hit the ground out of bounds before he went in to end zone but he did pick it off
