Virginia Tech vs. Miami Condensed Game | 2024 ACC Football

Virginia Tech and the #7 Miami Hurricanes played a Friday night thriller with Miami winning 38-34 at home. Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward threw for 343 yards and 4 touchdowns and he rushed for 57 additional yards and another touchdown in the win. Miami WR Elijah Arroyo had a team-high 88 yards receiving and a touchdown. Xavier Restrepo caught 5 passes for 60 yards and Jacolby George caught 4 balls for 59 yards and a touchdown. Hokies quarterback Kyron Drones threw for 2 touchdowns on the night and running back Bhayshul Tuten rushed 19 times for 141 yards including a 55-yard touchdown.

Credit VT’s defense, they made this game closer than it should have been. They rattled the Oline and Miami’s defense couldn’t stop the run and get off the field most of the game😡

What a game. That was a crazy Friday night college football game. Miami no doubt has all kinds of talent, but Cam Ward is scary at times. He makes plays happen with his athletic abilities and thats all good, but it is scary at times to watch. Great squad though. VT looks like a way better team than 2-3. They have all kinds of talent, too. Drones is very good and Tuten is a beast. Miami just wasn't about to take that L in their own house. That wasn't in the cards.

We live in a blame world. The refs got this call wrong to begin with. It was not a catch. The receiver never had control. The ACC statement says this, "The ACC issued a statement regarding the overturn of the Virginia Tech Hail Mary on the final play of the game versus Miami on Friday night. Once a Miami player who was out of bounds touched the ball, the play was dead. The question of whether or not the play was a catch at that point is moot." That's simply not true and a lie.
It doesn't matter where the defender is or was. Inbound or out of bounds is irrelevant. Any other catch anywhere on the field for an offensive receiver only requires him to be inbounds for a completed catch. It doesn't matter where the defender is. Therefore, this ACC statement is not only bogus, its worse. It teaches these young people and all society to blame others when you, the officials fail, get it wrong, don't do your job with competence, and are downright delinquent in taking responsibility for your actions and behavior of getting the initial call on the field wrong in the first place. And this is the realm of so called higher education, where people think they're superior and greater than others just because they learn or know something? That's a joke and a lie. I was a football official and a collegiate educator. I know and I didn't make a call unless you literally see it, which they didn't see the receiver have complete control of the ball for the catch, and therefore would be called incomplete. The pressure of the game for the officials is irrelevant. They chose to take and do the job for a fee of hundreds of dollars in pay, so do your job. No excuses. If you can't, they should either be fired or not take the job. Pressure at work is relative. Everyone has it and feels it in any job. So that's not a legitimate defense. The failure was the officials doing their jobs on this play and making the right call, but the ACC does not hold their officials publicly accountable for this. So why should any ACC athlete or employee not blame others for they as athletes or employees not doing their jobs? Because that's exactly what the ACC taught all to do by their pathetic statement about this last play of this game. And we wonder why the world is the way it is now with no one taking responsibility for their actions or non-actions and choosing to blame others. You make the world what you want. No one's responsible for anything. That's not truth.

I'm a Miami hurricanes for life, but the truth is the defense needs improvement and offensively clean up the mistakes, to much talent for a game like this it shouldn't have come down to a review.

Please don’t be fooled Miami scored and went up 21 to 7 and they called the touchdown back because of a horrible, horrible bad holding call because the left tackle dominated the defensive end and the very next play came threw his first only true INT everything else was tipped ints Not making any excuses But Miami had a short week and missing starters on that Defense they not even fully healthy and playing with depth and winning games on that defense and our left tackle haven’t played the Florida game and the LG haven’t played a full 2 games … this Team is on a Rise for sure even the Haters kno it momentum every week
