As someone who’s first instrument was an upright bass, it takes it mad difficult learn guitar because the notes are different and you only look at the bass clef when learning bass. It does make it easier to learn electric bass guitar though.

I learned double bass in my school’s orchestra around the same time as guitar.

As an orchestral strings cello player I have never heard upright bass in my life, thats a double bass to me lol

lol i learned it from the other side (violin and other bowed strings) and yeah, pretty much just change the tuning and increase the size and ya get a bass
