Hated hybrids since they came out. Tried one a few weeks ago and bought it (cobra flyz 19deg ). Fills the distance gap on par 5s , way more accurate than my 3 iron. Cheers.

I used to go down to a 4 iron with a 3 driving iron thing. I've got rid of those now so only go down to a 5 iron and I'm looking at testing some hybrids over the next few months. I never used to like hybrids but your videos and opinions on them have shown me the light.

If coach is say 5 ft 8, then 9 ft (3 yards) is like coach standing on his own shoulders (ok, a touch less) but I think you would see that difference in a ball flight as what you are seeing would be highlighted by any trees or hills etc on the skyline. I'm not sure you'd see a 3 or 4 ft difference though.

Interesting that the hybrid was 5 yards compared to the 5 iron of 12 yards offline ! The dispersion should also be take into account.. I’m a lot more accurate with a 5 iron than a hybrid, so it goes to show that we are all so very different. Could of course carry both if there was room in the bag .😉🏌️⛳️🍻

I'm a hybrid convert - have a 4 & 5 in the bag and swap out by 5 iron with one of my 4 wedges depending on course/conditions - with driver, 3 & 5 woods in there too it's a busy bag of sticks - but generally works well and covers all the gaps right through the bag!

My best club used to be my 3 iron when I was 20/30 years old. Now I’m 50.
I recommend once you start slicing your long irons, switch to hybrids.
My 3 and 5 woods work great but to fill in for my 3 and 4 iron, I got a 5 hybrid.
Loose the long iron ego and improve your game with a hybrid or two.

I'd like to see you do a video analysing where Matt generates his speed from. Admits himself he isn't working in the gym but yet can generate phenomenal speed. Why is he up to 12mph faster than you with his driver. Maybe link this in with "shaft loading" buzz word ideas and misconceptions around "lag" etc. Thanks bruh

No brainer for me. Hybrids have proved the game changer for me. Carry 3 to 6 hybrids. Even considering getting a 7 hybrid.

My highest iron is 7 and I carry 2 hybrids 22*&30* but I also have 2 extra fairway woods 7 @21* and 9 @27*!

I used to feel that I always would only be able to ever hook hybrids and should just stick to long irons; I was drawing on a careery I'd hit with a friend's 5 iron...After ONE SHOT that I NEEDED to pop it high and stop it with a 6 hybrid, my confidence with them soars and they're now my favorite club! Don't give up if you're struggling to see the shot because of the shape of the club at first peoples; stay with them and work on your strike, you'll eventually start seeing all the great things they can do for you and hit shots that will instill confidence in them, then you can start shaping them and low bulleting them; I love my hybrids now!

5 iron is my longest iron. I carry a 3 and 4 hybrid.

Some hybrids are designed to hit down like irons others more like fairway woods. So picking the right hybrid makes a BIG different.

I use a 22' hybrid instead of a 4 iron.... But use a 2 iron instead of 5 wood... I play with a slight draw, so find that the 2 iron helps with cut spin shots when needed...

I swap my 4-5 hybrids with my irons depending on the course or weather. I'll usually keep the 4 hybrid and 5 iron in the bag a little more.

I can't do anything with a hybrid, the shape standing over it just confuses my brain about the kind of swing it needs to make.
