Epic ending! He finally made it back to Mars, where he can be reunited with his wife and son! This thing definitely needs a sequel.

I'd leave Earth too if there was a Dejah Thoris waiting for me.

I love the cut to Dejah, followed by John's face, like he's finally at peace. Then the zoom to Barsoom...the Red Planet has never looked better. And when the title changes and it adds "of Mars, " it's so fulfilling.

This is the film that awoke me and made me see Disney's true colors. From that day the film came out, and after seeing how poorly it was treated financially and critically, I increasingly began to despise Disney. Although I'm happy that John Carter got removed from the likes of Disney and reverted back to Burroughs to find another studio, to this day, I can't get over it. They had an opportunity to make this into a franchise, based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' beloved science fiction books. A story that inspired great works and even inspired me. This was pure science fiction history, essentially the grandfather of Star Wars, Avatar, Flash Gordon, even SUPERMAN HIMSELF! And this is coming from a person who hasn't read any of the books before, but was introduced the moment I saw that trailer after "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2". They had SO many chances and potential. And they blew it. Not the cast and crew in particular, just how it was presented to the public. They don't put their best minds into something gratifying and unique other than their tired Pixar ripoff CGI films and live action reboots and Marvel films and apparently Star Wars. Because that's what gets them money. I'm not against them for making money (that's obviously the main task for every company), I'm against them for putting that as a priority. If you truly care about your demographic, the fans should be your number ONE priority. Originality and faithfulness to adaptations should be another priority. I really dislike companies that try to appeal to audiences who would most likely not care about what the company publishes or presents. Say what you will about other companies, at least some are owning up to their mistakes and trying to make themselves better. They have hits and misses, but they keep trying no matter what happens to them. Disney doesn't want to do that. Look, I'm not going to act like I know a company well because I don't know what truly goes on behind closed doors. But what I do know is that I see the same routine from them. I noticed how films like John Carter and A Bug's Life gets overlooked. I've noticed how many people weren't so happy when Tron 3 was cancelled and other cancelled films. I've noticed how many people still loved Fantasia or Atlantis: The Lost Empire. I've noticed how many lost gems are still considered timeless to a minority of fans. Apparently, Disney doesn't, from what I'm seeing. So...until they change their ways and go back to what made them great, as far as I'm concerned, I will never ever watch or buy another Disney product from them ever again. I'm boycotting anything that is associated with Disney. It's bad to waste Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Tron and even Treasure Planet. But they've wasted such a golden opportunity. Oh well, obviously they don't care what I think. Or what other people think. Thank you, Disney...for "making movies to make more money."

Beautiful ending to such a criminally underrated movie that deserved a trilogy.

This is one of my favourite childhood films. Such a shame it’s underrated and not appreciated enough. The ending just makes me want more but it’s up to our belief he’s reunited with her
