Never having read the books or seen The Princess of Mars, this movie was great. I liked the dialog, character interaction, plot, sub plots, special effects, clean language, overall great movie. Those of you who said this was not a good movie, well, your loss.

I don't care that this movie bombed at the box office, I am very happy they made it because I think it is a wonderful and beautiful movie. I loved every minute of it, I wish it had not failed so we could see a John Carter 2. On the strength of this movie I don't think we will see a John Carter 2, which is sad because this movie looks good had a good story and was very well acted. It was just brilliant and I cannot see why it bombed but it's sad for such a great film not to have a sequel.

As an ERB fan since my early teens I loved the John Carter novels. Sorry the film didn't turn into the franchise Disney wanted but at least they did it right. No movie can ever replicate the books exactly but this one was pretty close to the mark.
