Linux Mint 21 'Vanessa' - Easy to use, fast and comfortable?

Started 4 years ago in Linux on Mint. Moved on in the meantime, but at least once a year I come back and it keeps being a great distro. I could easily live in it again. Thanks Stephen!

Thank you for the video 👍After the malware/spyware/virus that Microsoft labeled as Windows 11 it was time to switch to Linux. Mint was the 1st distro I installed. I've been hopping for 8 months or so but mint is now my daily driver. Its everything you need that just works. Hats off to the mint team the beta is very near perfect 👌

Linux Mint has been my favorite and Main operating system since nearly their beginning! I used to distro hop quite a bit but I would always find myself returning to the incomparable Linux mint!!

It is great that Mint 21 has got to the Beta stage. I'm currently using Xubuntu 22.04 or Windows 10 because Mint 20.3 does not have a new enough kernel to work with Intel 10th gen processors. I didn't want to try to use a newer kernel in case that caused other problems. Those Intel 10th Gen desktop processors were introduced a whole 2 years ago so it seems strange that Mint users have had to wait so long.

I've been using Linux Mint for a year now. Thankfully I've never had any issues with my Nvidia card, it's actually worked, dare I say.. Flawlessley. 1440p @ 144Hz with GSync enabled.

I'm using the latest proprietary driver that LM recommends, and I think it uses the Ubuntu-Drivers-Common to figure that out.

i used mate and xfce. I liked xfce as its faster and responsive and also I ran into a wifi driver problem, and kernal problems in mate. But I am loving xfce it works equally well on both my old and new laptops. Watching this video i will try cinnamon too. Thank you and love you man.

Basically Ubuntu but without the annoyance of Gnome and snaps, so pretty much a win in every aspect.

Great video! Mint is just the good ubuntu now. When you used df -k, you probably meant to use df -h to show the sizes in human readable format, the -k option does not do anything on its own.

Linux mint is the Best distro of all time, i just change the color of the Theme, and the Wallpapers, and voi lá, its my daily driver distro.

Thanks for the review! I used Mint almost 10 years ago and have good memories of Cinnamon. Nowadays, I prefer GNOME, with its desktop search mechanisms and touchpad gestures. I'll probably give Mint another try shortly, but it worries me that Cinnamon is not targeting Wayland at all...

Could you test the BigLinux distribution? It is a popular distribution in Brazil, but it is very little known in other countries, but it is perhaps the fastest KDE that comes in a distribution.

OH..for those who DON'T see this exact message appear..and you find yourself right back at the Live booted up Environment ( clem and the LM dev team may have solved this..but just in case ) ...instead at the end of the installation wizard..select " continue testing" and now you can choose to manually shut down that PC via gui buttons ( cinnamon menu at bottom left ...light switch ) or terminal command of:...

shutdown
..or

shutdown now

And when it's obvious enough your PC Is completely powered off..THEN you can physically unplug the installation thumb drive ( or in my case...ssd ) used to install LM with, then power it back on and worst case is you may need to enter uefi/bios to choose the targeted drive you installed LM into as the 1st boot device.

This was a common problem for me in older LM cinnamon versions but not with the mate or xfce for whatever reason ( shrugs)
