Making decent Quidditch gameplay seems somewhat daunting imo. I'd rather have them invest time in other areas, giving us a solid story, good gameplay, proper talents/abilities/spells, and an open world based around Hogwarts is plenty for an initial release. Nail those aspects and you can create a respectable Quidditch game for sequels or as a standalone for years to come.

As far as Quidditch is concerned, I won't really complain if it isn't in the game given how immersive it already is. In terms of Diagon Ally, the question of exploring it beyond major story events boils down to one question: do we get to choose our wand, or is it simply given to us? If it's the former, then maybe Diagon Ally will be the basic tutorial.

If Quidditch is in the game they did a PERFECT job teasing it as much as they have without confirming. And it's smart for them to hold onto such a fan favorite idea so they still have surprises before release. And gives time to scrap if it's not working out.

the books mention that while incredibly rare, some wizards are homeschooled, the fact that the main character starts as a 5th year and can see the thestrals may point to him being made an orphan by this old magic and is forced to go to hogwarts to finish his education

Imagine you getting expelled from hogwarts for being a dark wizard, finding a safe house out of the castle and starting a path of gathering companions and pursuing really dark magic like necromancy and artifacts while the ministry is after you, you could still finish the story and fight the bad guy but not because you are good, because you want to the be most powerfull wizard, however you could only choose these path after learning avada kedevra in level 85 for example, later in the game

Something I found concerning in the trailer was the AI on the enemies, they seem to just be standing there while you fire off spell after spell on them and not firing back much at all. I'd hope that this would be something you can control by changing the difficulty but if it isn't then I think it would break immersion a bit.

The game is only coming out at the end of the year, they need to keep the wait exciting, so maybe they're just saving Quidditch for another trailer to hype the game even more closer to its release.

This games probably going to be the first game I actually get the collectors edition for

I’m hoping the 3 Unforgivable Curses are in the game. I think it would be epic to be in a battle with a light wizard then if you have to you cast the cruciatus curse to keep someone down for a bit.

3:50 - Actually I would say modern games have more the route of minimal HUDs, like Ghost of Tsushima.

Another missing element: Ravenclaw companion.

And it could be that this is a setup for a sequel so that it's years 5, 6, and then 7.

I think the only question I actually want answered before the launch is what the conversations look like with your companions and other people around Hogwarts. I really REALLY really hope we can choose what we say to people, similar to Telltale or mass effect. The rest of these I would personally like as a surprise as I adventure through and spend 100's of hours :)

I think quidditch is in the game:
They hinted us quidditch because they didn't have time in the state of play to talk about it.
I think they really made quidditch something big in the game so they are reserving a whole separate video to talk about it in depth

I really hope quidditch is in the game. I think that's one of the things they want to keep as a surprise. That or they are saving it to introduce it more during this year. But to me, the fact we see robes and the pitch it's probable we get it!

A few more thinks we don’t know: how will our patronus work? Will we be able to choose our patronus and make it match up with our own or will the game give us one. Or make us choose from a small selection?

Will we be able to develop an animagus form and again will we be able to choose what it is? I think they obviously wont make gaming mechanics for every single animal that we could have as our patronus (for example mine is a dolphin so I don’t see that happening in any way) but still will there be a small selection of animagus forms we can achieve in a large and difficult side quest or something?

My biggest worry from the reveal is that we dont actually get to see what/who your character kills in the reveal.
This could be nothing, but it could also be them just trying to gain hype by showing the spell, while in reality it could be just a required moment in the story, and that is the only time we get to use the spell(I dont think this is the case, but as a gamer who plays a lot of different games, im used to devs using their fans dreams just for hype, but it turns out to be nothing like the fans dream of.)

Also i hope quidditch is in the game, but its absolutely not gonna be a dealbreaker for me if its not. I think this game will be absolutely fantastic, and i cant wait to play it!

Some concerns/comments:
1) How does branching dialogue work
2) What is the UI like
3) Movement seems sluggish, but might just be because you play a wizard/witch, where there is not much of an emphasis on physicality.
4) I think quidditch is missing because it’s not ready to be showed yet. An alternative is the broom racing.
5) Would like to see if the ‘gear’ is made by the room of requirement, or you cast the charms to enchant it.
6) Will there be differing origins for the players, like other rpg games (like dragon age origins for ex), with pure books, half blood, muggleborn start.
7. The concept art showed locations that weren’t shared in the gameplay reveal, meaning there could be many open world regions, as the landscapes differ vastly.

I would love quidditch but as DLC. That be something to really focus on.

I honestly think combat is gonna be just straight up arkham style but at range as opposed to hand to hand. All of WB games for the most part use that combat system and why wouldn't you tbh. The way batman can switch up attacks by double tapping certain buttons or holding down one while pressing another allowing you to vary up your attacks just makes as much sense here as it does there rather than treating spells like ammo by cycling through them. It's makes sense in terms of the world too where to do spells you have to memorize patterns and motions and this could really feed into that whole idea

Quidditch does seem so difficult to pull off, idk how they’re gonna do it. I do think it’ll be in the game tho so here’s hoping we get a showcase of it at some point!
