You know if we want to make it in the movie industry as a filmmaker we have to put in the work, we got to work hard and work smart, don't forget to NETWORK with people and professionals in the business,
and we got to have self discipline and believe in ourselves, it takes alot of HARD WORK to make it in the film industry and it is possible.
we got to have an idea and make the movie, hired some actors, crew's, etc and raise money and fund the project and look for some film investor's to fund the movie. and put in alot of hard work to make a movie and work super hard and than we will get ahead than the 99% of actor's, filmmaker's that still struggling to make it.

I’m 14 right now almost 15 and i wanted to do something in the film industry but after hearing all of this i ask myself where do you get all those connections or how do you get those connections just walk up to someone who works at Warner Bros. And ask them for some money to make a movie because i do not have a rich Uncle with a lot a money and a lot of connections

Im 16 and very intrested in the movie industry with a lot of ideas, i understood the paths that you said. But, one thing i cant figure it right now is, How do i start? Do i go to college or is it something different?

For all of you future filmmakers, no matter what department in the industry you want to work in. Here are some words of encouragement. Steven Spielberg started at Universal as an intern. Then networked with people in Universal, and got a shot to work with a producer on a short silent film. That film won awards, and because of that recognition he was hired by Universal as a director. He is the youngest hired director in Universal's history. Another filmmaker who made his own path is Christopher Nolan. He showed his self-made independent feature film in film festivals. From the success of that film he got to work with producers in the industry and continues to make studio feature films today. Don't give up before taking the first step. I'm a film student. Spielberg and Nolan are two of my favorite and biggest inspirations. During film school I'll network to get my projects going. While in film school I focus on producing, writing, and directing my own films. I want to be able to control my visions completely. I'll also start my own film company to have more artistic control.

Very cool vid, I like the fact that you aim to be motivational but also realistic. You still have to build your way up but producing your own content is a far more expedited path. My only question is with your film "Bounty", what channels for exposure did you use prior to getting a distribution deal from Lionsgate? Did you submit to festivals, Vimeo, YouTube? I have a short film that I'm going to produce and I just wanted to see what avenues you thought were best for exposure.

Hey! Helpful video, i got a question. How do you hire people for a indie movie? Let's say that i go to film school, there i meet some friend in different fields (photography, editing ecc...), so i kinda have a crew. We made a movie, we send it to festivals but it does not go well, let's say that i (director/screenwriter) do not give up and decide to do another indie movie, how do i hire people for light, sound ecc..?
