Also note, IG has a hidden “upload in higher quality” setting you can enable. It’s under Settings > Accounts > Data Usage. It’s off by default.

Dude! This is great. Thanks for the time you put on delivering such helpful videos. It would be great if you can do the test for YouTube too!! 1080 and 4K. I’m sure a lot of people would love to see it, me included! Will wait for the video 🙏🏼 Cheers!!

Would love to see a test between this and Rec 709 color space + Rec709.A as the gamma tag!

If I were fluent in English I would get much more out of your content, including the courses. You make the best content today.

What about h.265 auto with tags? I’d be curious to see if there’s any difference to h.264

This is what happens in Instagram: you upload a video, and for some reason, now the black levels are raised so it looks flatter lower contrast, and the reds shift to yellow, . you can tell Instagram is doing it because the very first moment you click on the video its the CORRERCT look then it applies its treatment. BUT when you share the video on your story, its back to the correct look. why instagram

Before I found my own solution I literally tried everything. And I could never get the Instagram video to look how it looks in Davinci until I created my own custom shared node that I put at the end of my node tree, I labeled it “output node”. I do all my grading with the output node off and when I’m ready to export, I turn on the shared output node and Now all my videos look exactly how it looks in davinci. So just in case the tags don’t work for some of you, you have to create a custom node to get the correct sat and gamma. It takes trial and error but once you dial in the correct settings you can save the node as a shared node and add it to a power grade and now you have it for all your future grades

Hey Qazi, I'm use Rec709-A tag on my Mac in Color Management Tab in Project Settings
and in Export (Deliver) - Same As Project.
Because the gamma in this situation identical in Quick Time Player too.
Davinci = Quick Time Player = WEB and Social Media

Grear advice here ! Thanks a lot. I fight with another problem for a while now: While in DR18.6.5 and locally played on the Mac all is fine, once I upload to IG (via my Android phone) the original sound of the clip is gone. I have no idea where to even search for the problem ...

You used *spacebar* preview and got it to look the same?! sRGB tagging is the way!! I wonder if it'll look the same in quicktime too!!! :D

Is there a reason for choosing quicktime over MP4?

Is there a tutorial on how to stack 3 clips like shown on this video? Sorry for the noob question.

For my part, I have a problem. I use the same settings for export but, I have some color differences between my Davinci Viewer and my export. I don't understand why. I played my video in VLC and the result is the same of the Davinci Viewer, but when I use QuickTime Player, it is not. The saturation is lower. It also happens when I try to export an image in PNG, the colors are not the same. Anyone to help me ?

Hey Qazi, I used the same export settings as from the winner version as well as your color management settings and the result still looked lighter and desaturated than how it looked in the Davinci viewer.

What do I do?

(The only export setting that works for me is Rec 709A, but I wanna work with a more accurate version of WG/Intermediate)

So when you are working in a controlled color space, should my node converting my footage be davinci wide gamut to rec 709 sRGB or rec 709 gamma 2.4 if i'm on a Macbook?

Hey, what about export settings for youtube? They are changing stuff all the time, so maybe there are new better export settings as well.
