This is how you can build a 2-way slime block flying machine. Now that 0-tick farms are patched (as of 1.16) we will need to make our bamboo and sugarcane farms with these flying machines!

This was a great tutorial and worked like a charm. Very straightforward, and you went as far as giving an explanation to how it moved. It is also a super expandable design, which will be very helpful. Thanks!

In case anyone is confused at the last part...what u want to do before u make the machine move (placing a block above the observer) is to make sure the levers are turned off (that is the repeater and the redstone are not glowing) 🙂..and to stop the machine from moving, turn on either one of the levers..this is working for 1.16 still have a good day!

I followed exactly how you've been doing it but on my test world its not moving over to the other side. Its just pushing itself but staying in the same position

Thank you for this comprehensive tutorial on flying machines. I really needed the explanation on the mechanics.

I liked your videos cuz they are straight forward and simple for people who just wanna know the redstone circuits rather than watching them work in farms

Thanks Dusty, I used this to make Avomances' Ghast Farm work.

I wish observers worked right on the server I normally play on - but they always lag out and break, as does anything timing-based.
Only flying machine I ever got to work - and that was with some MAJOR rework to the "turnaound" circuit - was intended for Bedrock/PE, relies on the "move the redstone" method, and is bulky enough to not be able to do a lot of useful work as the machine itself is something like 6 or 7 blocks per side.

In the newest patches the stick pistons fight each other for which way the machine goes so it only moves a couple blocks in either direction before being pulled back in the other direction. Just replace one sticky piston with a piston and at least you have a one way machine

This was a perfect and simple tutorial, while also explaining how it works. Tried it out in a creative test world, still works on Java 1.18.1 if anyone is wondering. Thank you, I subscribed!

Is this for Java Edition only? Or, should it work with Bedrock too? (I *_really_* wish YouTubers would specify this in the TITLE of their videos)

For sure going to try this. Made a large sugarcane farm, and there's no way I'm harvesting it by hand any longer.
