Always lock your doors, not just after parking but as soon as you get inside you vehicle.

Another tip for parking, especially in garages is to take a picture of where your vehicle is located and any nearby parking signs such as floor/ deck numbers and colors and where any elevators may be. This helps in finding your vehicle once you’ve ready to leave. Thanks for all of these tips. I try to back in as often as possible too.

On a safety ( for ladies) they suggested park under light. As you go to your car check back seat as you open door. Lots of tips. 😊😊

# 1 lock car doors
# 2 close all windows and the sunroof
# 3 stop AC etc so no toxic fumes enter your car
# 4 find safest parking lot possible
# 5 be aware of your surrounding, esp before opening the door to exit the car
# 6 take fotos of cars next to yours

My father taught me to always fuel up before it gets below half a tank, it saves money when you don't have to have refill a whole tank vs half. So when its about two above half tank fill it up and also choose one particular company, don't keep going to random ones cause you never know if it could lead to bad gas.

May I add to the safety tips:
1.) DO NOT remotely unlock or trunk release while too far away. Always look around your car, underneath if possible for feet in case a person is hiding.
2.) If you're at the mall, especially during big, gift giving holidays like Christmas, Mother's day, etc. and you're loaded down with packages and want to take them out to the car and place them in the trunk, keep in mind that creeps watch where you park, how you handle yourself, whether you pay attention to your surroundings and even after you go back into the mall or leave in your car they may follow you. Either have others with you to help or plan out a good strategy.
3.) Don't leave values or anything that looks valuable in plain sight. Keep underneath the seats or in some cases amidst an intentional junky pile on the back floor. Quick to put back in place but intentionally an eyesore to those who may be

I know alot of people may feel that this is a bit too much stressing and too much work but these are tips given to us by police/personal protection experts and believe it or not: reformed ex- convicts. It's only too much work if you live in a state of paranoia or too much pride, otherwise take it to heart and don't overreact or underreact. Remain calm and keep it moving. Thanks for the tips.❤😊

Thank you. I learned the hard way one day when I was down to less than 1/4 tank and had an emergency. Got a call that my mother was in the ER so there I was 11 PM looking for a gas station because I had a bit of a drive. Never again!!!

Pam, you are the most lovely lady!! Thank you for sharing these tips. I’m not a fan of garage parking, but sometimes you have to park there. My husband has drilled into my head about ALWAYS BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS!!!

Fabulous video! Thank you for the great tips! A few more I’d add …
1. If you’re feeling creeped-out as you approach your parked car, press the panic button on your remote (if you have one) — the honking horn and flashing lights could deter the threat and attract the attention of safe people in the vicinity.
2. Always lock all of your doors, even when you’re inside your car.
3. Be mindful of any little kids or people in wheelchairs as you enter or exit your parking space — if you don’t see where they went, they could be in your car’s blind spots!
4. Hide all packages that are in your car. NEVER leave a pocketbook, cell phone, wallet or laptop in sight!
5. If your intuition is telling you, “no, ” as you drive into the garage, drive right to the exit, pay the minimum, and drive out!

You are so correct!!! No matter where I park, I alway back in to the space, it is easier to back into a space than someone's vehicle!!!! When I back in, it's much easier to exit, especially when in heavy traffic!!!! When I park, I use the vehicle next to me as mirror when in doubt of how far to back in. For safty, I have always been cognizant of people, their movements, as well as my surroundings, I am never complacent when I am in public! I am continuously scanning everything around me in a discretionary manner, having been B/R in the city!!!! I neved allow my vehicle to drop below half of a tank, just in case of any emergency/heavy traffic and or a traffic accident that I may be stuck in for a moment!!!! Dear lady, you have offered excellent tips. Thank you for your thoughts, GOD

You are correct. I always back in, keep my doors locked, head on a swivel, Keep a flash light charged and within hands reach. I photograph where my car is and how I parked it. Also some phones let you drop a pin, so that you can walk straight back to it. Once out of the car I do not dilly dally I power walk with a purpose straight out.

Great advice! I would also say to check your vehicle when you return. If you have a truck with an open bed, make sure no one is laying in it. If you have a van or SUV, look in the windows and make sure nobody is hiding in it. And always check the back seat. If you feel like someone is following you, walk quickly to a security guard or find another entry point to go back inside around people. I would be leery of a couple of random guys standing around talking if they are close to your car and/or if you think someone if following you. It could be a group that's been watching you since you arrived. It happens...

Also--always EXPECT problems --especially at night. Be a bit paranoid. Ask someone to escort you to your car if able. Always park in a well-lit area. Keep your car keys in your hand--not only to get in quickly, but to also be able to jab an attacker with if necessary. As you pull up to the gate to pay, look carefully from right to left to make sure no one is nearby. If they are, keep your windows closed (and door locked) and refuse to move until they are a safe distance from you. Be prepared to push the PANIC button on your key chain if they approach. If they were approaching innocently, just say, oops, sorry. Better that, than to be robbed. It not only can scare away a potential attacker, but calls for help and for others to look in your direction--which also scares attackers away. One last thing. If you ever have a van parked next to your driver's side of the car, get quickly into your car from your passenger's side, and lock the door. Push the panic button on your keychain. If no one moves in the car, or pops up---then you are more than likely safe to go get in your driver's side. However many people have been kidnapped by people in a van--by them opening their van door and pulling the victim into their van when the victim goes to get in their driver's side of the car. Stay safe. Again, If at all possible, NEVER walk in a parking garage at night alone. Always ask someone to escort you!

Hello Pam, another excellent tip when entering a parking garage is to put your headlights on which are brighter than your parking lights. This also signals your approach to other vehicles coming and going! Love your tips. Be blessed ❤
