Even if PA never got that wedge up by Lake Erie, we would still have a tiny bit of coastline along the lake

Ah yes, a piece of land that so many states wanted...same energy as when the Congo was given to King Leopold II of Belgium because Britain and France both wanted it but Lepold II said "Why not me as a neutral solution to balance influence?" and they agreed.

There's a similar situation to Carter Lake in the boundary of Manhattan. The neighborhood of Marble Hill used to be part of the island of Manhattan, but when the Harlem River was redirected, that Manhattan neighborhood was physically separated from the island and became part of the US mainland.

2:31 I used to live in the Tarrytown area of Westchester so it's interesting to think Tarrytown could've been Connecticut. It's a beautiful area with some cool history like a preserved Dutch manor called Philipsburg Manor and a Dutch Reformed Church in the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery that was completed in 1699, and of course being the setting of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Washington Irving is buried within that cemetery). Best time to visit is definitely Fall for not only the Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze but also the gorgeous foliage on the Metro North's Hudson Line on the way there.

Imagine Canada leaving a piece of land in the middle of New York.

That lower left Connecticut panhandle contains cities like Stamford, which are one of the few areas where you can literally go north south east or west and end up in New York State
