I’d seen this remote literally a few minutes ago and had a question that I just couldn’t find the answer to anywhere but I went to YouTube and this was the first video and it answered my question completely and also answered questions that I didn’t even know I had. Great video man.

This is great as you can teach the RF frequency to a smart hub (like broadlink) and have it turn on your PC at voice command with Google Home / Alexa.

I added a remote control to my Minisforum mini pc by adding a "remote control power strip". Set the Bios (hit delete button during boot up), change the setting to enable pc to start after power outage. Then simply turn the pc off normally but after pc shuts down power off the power strip. When you turn power strip back on PC boots up automatically. Simple, cheap and effective!

I just was thinking of buying one! Sorry if I'm asking you a question 4 years after the video came out, but do you just have to connect it to the front panel header to make it work? You don't have to use the Y cable if you don't want to, right?

The problem, and a big one for me is that WOL (wake on lan) doesn’t allow you to fully shutdown your pc (shut down all running applications and open software) to some of you you are probably like wait.. my computer doesn’t do that when I press the power button. Yes because it is a setting you have to enable in windows. If you don’t have it enabled then all your apps and open programs will stay open the next time you turn on your computer. If you have it enabled it is basically restarting your computer every time you start it up. This however as I stated is not supported with WOL therefore this is a great alternative because it gets into the system and actually enables it to fully shut down.

My computer is my main music player. I have it hooked up to a DAC and nice speakers. I would like to listen to music in bed when I drift to sleep. This remote would be perfect way for me to power down the PC without me having to leave my comforter

I got this, it drains the battery very quickly.

Also if you turn on a bios feature, to turn off yours usb ports power when shut down, it does not work.

Their pci card is better, as 5v Sb is allways on, ut it takes up a slot in your pc.

Im planning on drilling two 40mm holes through a brick wall for cables pass through and putting the PC on the other side. Do you think this remote would work through the brick wall? Anyone tried it?
