So it is media only? Would it pause / rewind / skip / maximize an YT video?

I have done my receiver with an USB-connected Arduino that serves as a HID, so I can configure any remote (only some of them emit multiple codes per button press, which is pesky), and then assocciate every key with a Pi keyboard shortcut, even to a level that it launches my own scripts. And since I essentially only need some 10 buttons, I could use the rest of the remote to control other devices.

What if you use your same tv remote with the kodi? It won’t interfere if you for example press the channel button?

I've been using a small wireless keyboard mouse with my Pi and there's no need for an IR adapter.

The cheaper Harmony remotes are horrible and take triple A batteries :/
