I owned a 2006 5.7 Ram 1500 and got 260k out of its original engine and transmission. It was the best truck I’ve ever driven. Most of my friends and family hated me for driving a Dodge but I was the first one they’d call for help when there car broke down😊

These older, mid-2000's Dodge Ram 1500's with the 5.7 L HEMI V8 engine and the five-speed automatic transmission are still running strong and driving pretty good as of today. There is no need to buy a newer used vehicle. Thank you very much.

I have a 2003 Ram 1500 Standard cab. It's been my daily driver since 2006. Great truck. Tough as hell. Still a lot of original stuff too at 471, 000 miles.

I worked as a toolmaker for Newark Assy. for Chrysler Corp. from 93 to 09 when the plant closed.Chrysler never needed Daimler Benz. The company was doing fine with 8 billion in cash reserve at the time of the "takeover" When Daimler took over they took away as many improvements that had been made on the vehicle as they could get away with. For just a few examples they eliminated some inspection on the final line, did away with the color coordinated running boards, eliminated reinforcement brackets in the under-body and also did away with the shipping tape? that you normally only see on expensive vehicles. They actually cheapened the Dodge Durango. I was there.

My 05 Ram with the 5.7 Hemi has been flawless mechanically except the usual wear and tear items. The 5 speed trans like some have stated on here has 6 gears using a 2nd prime gear for downshifting from 5th at highway speeds, it only uses 5 up shifts tho. Great truck, not the most comfortable but it's the last of the "real" trucks made, not like these 100k $ Cadillac wus trucks of today. Mine can really take a beating without skipping a beat.

I'm the owner of an 04 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 5.7Hemi 2wd, Bought it brand spanking new in November of 03. I'm at 300, 000+ kms and she's still driving (4-5 xs per week) with no issues. With exception to the typical wear & tear components (brakes, shocks etc) I've only had to replace a fuel pump, heater core & (1) o2 IT !!!!. Of course the body is rotting away (good old Toronto Canada winters, lol) but this truck is a beast and I will run this thing until she quits. Not bad for a purchase made almost 20 yrs back. Myself and 2 other friends all purchased the same truck within a matter of months back in 03/04. One of them decided to upgrade in 2010/11 with a new model Ram 1500 and it was nothing but issues for him within 4-5 months of owning the vehicle. As for the other friend with the 04? It's still going strong with 400, 000kms + and minimal repairs over the great all around truck with a super strong motor ;)

The old magnum engines are near bulletproof. The 3.9 isn't winning any 1/4 miles, but it's cast iron and will outlast the frames on most vehicles. 12 years ago I bought a 94 3.9 Dakota for $1200 and I've probably put less than $3500 into it since. $1400 of it being a 42rh trans rebuild.

I have a 2000 Dodge Magnum 360, 260, 000 miles. Regular maintenance, not one problem. Change the oil and transmission at regular intervals as it says in the manual. It's getting rusty but I'd drive it anywhere. I love it.

I am still driving my 2004 Dodge ram that I bought new in 04. It has 207, 000 miles and still runs like new. It does suffer from a manifold leak. I am big on maintenance so it has had nothing but synthetic oil since its 1st oil change.. definitely been a good truck for me.. it's 4x4 and I definitely drive it in some tough conditions

I have an 03 Dodge Ram 1500 4 door with 3.7 v6 with automatic transmission. It’s been a great truck. I bought it brand new in April of 2003 with only 3 miles. Today, 3/3/23, it has 306, 000 miles and still running strong. Only items I’ve replaced besides regular maintenance was front wheel bearings, and ball joints. It loves to eat ball joints and wheel hub bearings, other than that it’s been a fantastic truck. And it still drives like the day I bought it from Planet Dodge.

Im a landscaper running a 2007 dodge ram 370, 000+ miles. Abused every single day. Driven through woods, mud, rocks. Never failed me completely. Besides the starter and fuel pump not marking she’s running tip top. My daily is a 2012 single cab ram 160k miles. It has the exhaust bolt tick I’ve been too lazy to fix but shes tip top also

I've got an 04 1500 with the Hemi. Bought it used, wrecked it. Rebuilt it and still going strong!

I had an 07 5.7 QC 4x4, 17 3.6 CC 4x4, 16 5.7 CC 4x4, and now have a 19 5.7 CC 4x4. They’ve only gotten better. Another 50hp, 60ft/lb torque, better on fuel economy thanks to the 8 speed transmission. I love dodge trucks.

I have a 2004 RAM 2500 ST, 5.7 hemi, manual transmission, snow plow and towing package with 254, 000 miles on it. I bought the truck new. The only recurring problem I've had is the pilot bearing. It has a tendency to seize up over time. Living in New Jersey, the biggest issue is rust. The bottom links on the front axle rusted out. I had to have the frame repaired because it was rusting out. And body rot. But, the engine is still going strong!

I have a 2004 dodge ram 4.7 magnum automatic trans bought new. Best truck ever bought. Still own it 20 years later and it has 250, 000 miles original engine and transmission. Knock on wood I can get another year or two out of it. All I have done to it is regular maintenance.

My 1998 Ram 1500 with the 5.9 magnum still starts right up every time. Only 92k original miles thought. Automatic. Rides smooth still and I can take a nap across the front seat if need be.

Had a single cab one of these as my first truck. Drove it like a teenager for around 70, 000 miles and never had any real issues I can recall besides an exhaust hangar breaking.
