But what if it wasn't decreed for you, and you are living with disability or illness? Allah has placed reward in both ability and disability, and there is always something to strive for in every circumstance.

Alhamdulillah I have a slow speech which everyone makes fun of, I have realized my slow speech is a blessing in that it gives me time to think through what I am about to say . Sometimes I am about to say something offensive or lie and I realize mid way and I stop myself. So I go mute in the middle of a sentence out of fear of Allah. Alhamdulillah this is a blessing.

Today’s episode was exactly what I needed to see. Since reverting to Islam in 1995 (at the age of 21), I have suffered with my health. I have had nine major operations, had parts of my bowel removed, have twice been told I would die, and spent months in hospital. I’m in pain every day, but the biggest pain is watching my beloved wife have to look after me.

We are both aged 50, we have been married for 29 years and she was the catalyst for my embracing Islam. Neither of us have ever complained about my health, we’ve accepted it and thanked Allah SWT for His constant mercy. I love my wife, I love our daughters, but most of all, I love my Rabb and constantly praise Him. Alhumdullilah, I am truly blessed.

My 9 year old daughter had an accident in which she badly injured herself but later that day she said ‘mum I wouldn’t have had this accident if Allah swt didn’t mean for it to happen, so it’s ok’ I was in awe of her Imaan. SubhanAllah. As a mother I was in pain thinking about her wounds and her pain but she understood better than me. Alhamdulilah 🤲🏽

My sister said to me the other day that her health restricts her from so much and sometimes it’s hard to enjoy life so take advantage of your health because it’s the biggest blessing and we often overlook it. But what she didn’t realize is that Allah (swt) is elevating her station with her conditions. Alhamdulilah. This episode was meant for her and I am going to share with her that there is goodness from Allah in everything even when we cannot understand it. May Allah bless everyone and make it easy on us all. I struggled to not cry while watching this episode. I want to tell this to all reading my comment. My youngest son is nonverbal, autistic. As a special needs mother, I can't explain what I went through from 2013 (during his autism diagnosis at age 2)till 2023. I sought solace all these years and I finally found Qur'an, Subhanallah and Alhamdulillah as the solution which no psychologist could give . I cannot even explain how my life changed as a consequence. Autism lead me to find Qur'an. To all reading, pls approach Qur'an and see how your life transforms bit by bit. Allahumma Ameen.

This is the first Ramadan in my life that I am unable to fast due to illness. These episodes are right on time for me. I've been off track from my purpose and sense of connection to God and illness has brought me back to center. This was what I needed to hear so badly! My father became sick and hearing that there is great blessing in illness and disability placed some comfort in my heart. Now my father is less mobile I realize Allah made this happen for my family to All become closer and come together to help one another more than ever before. Allah is so merciful and this reminded me that this test of taking care of him is what my character and faith needed most. Allah always knows best❤️
