In this video i have showed how to create basic parametric 2 track aluminium sliding window family that can change width, height of the window as per your requirement. Even you have flexibility to choose your own measurements for frame width, frame depth, shutter width & shutter depth with custom materials. I am new to YouTube, forgive me for my mistakes. Hope you guys enjoyed and learned, for any queries leave a comment below. Thanks for watching Stay tuned for latest updates.

If I alter the value of the Frame Depth turns out that one reference plane doesn't move, remains anchored, therefore, the E.Q. dimensions become two different distances. I tried moving the reference lines manually and it works, but not when I edit the frame depth numerical distance just like you have shown in the tutorial ( I also tried via the Family Types icon ). The error message: -Walls: Basic Wall: Generic-6" id#, -Reference Planes: Reference Plane: id#, -Reference Planes: Reference Plane: id#
I checked the constraints by using a little icon at the bottom of the screen + I used "Visibility Graphics -Annotation Categories-Automatic Sketch Dimensions" to make sure they are correct. I have done this tutorial 2 times already, just to make sure I haven't done anything wrong, however, I cannot figure out why is this happening.

1.Thanks!
2. 16 minutes video, took me 90 min to compelte! lol.. a few things I didn't understand. everytime I did the EQ while clicking 3 guildlines I got an error that there are too many constrains!
at the end I constrained some parts like the glass to the actual window frame and it worked!
also had enless errors with the frame EQ - I created a 2nd reference plance for the sliders! when I used the same reference I used for the actual frame I got over contranied error again..
3. I already modeled this - can I share it? or can you? I wish I didn't waste those 90 min doing it :) didn't feel I learned more then how much I hate modeling families in Revit!
4. can you do another with sill stone/metal edge? (the thing the window "sits on" when its not flushed with the inteiror) Thankks!

This program is too much drama, Architectural desktop clearly indicates where to update any part of any window and door, it so weir the Autodesk has to re invent everything so we like sheep we buy it.
