Do these speedpaints live up to the hype?

We tried the Army Painter Speedpaints to see if they are as good as people say. This is what we discovered!

Tried these out.
Two very important notes.
1. Prime whatever you're painting in white or a lighter color as they are not very pigmented and coverage is lacking especially on black primer.
2. They do not function well on metal minis. Ending up with more of a glaze or tinge than an actual coat of paint.

Just got ours can't wait to try them on some board game minis for a quick wash "sundrop" technique I'm thinking of

disclaimer, barnish through an airbrush or a rattle can, cause this paints react with water solluable paint

What I noticed when using it is that some colors are better than others the red and green look way better than the purple speed paint

If your speed paint mega set didn't end disease and war then you were not using it properly. Did you try thinning it with speed paint medium and applying in thin layers over the human suffering?

They're half the cost of contrast paints and i prefer the finish since contrast paints tend to look very waxy or at least the ones ive tried do.

I dislike the way the paint rubs off if you don't clear coat afterwards which is a pain as I'd rather do it once after I highlight not twice just so the base coat stays there 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think people miss the emphasis on speed. I love them because I’m done (done meaning up to my standard so I can play with it) much much faster. You’re not winning any golden demon awards just cause you bought speedpaint tho

What a waste of money. barely any cheaper, ten times worse than anything else out there.
