So, firstly, on your monitor, manually navigate the menus on your monitor and find a HDR option and enable it. Then onto the PC. right-click your desktop and click display settings. About half way down you can toggle HDR on. Then click on the words "use hdr" which will open the HDR menu. Tick ''auto HDR' and any other relevant options you want (video playback etc.) and you should be good to go. For the washed out colour you could go into the NVIDIA control panel and go on adjust desktop colour and set the vibrance to about 60-70% for best results.
