I'm proud that I've never gotten lower back pain from deadlifting, but I've gotten neck stiffness from not activating my lats enough and hip soreness from not activating my glutes enough. Just remember it's a full body exercise, and one that's great at letting you know when your form is off.

My PT gave me the cue "break the bar" and that's really helpful for me. I've also heard to think put your shoulder blades in your back pockets.

I pulled a lat that took almost two weeks to work out probably from deadlifting. A good warm up before lifting recommended. At my advanced age I wear a belt. I don’t need a hernia, thank you

I do Cable RDLs with Straight bar as warm up. Works like a charm😁

I often cramp in the traps, lats or pecs when I do a heavy duty deadlift

Other than the bad example, no people were festured in the video deadlifting. All of those were clean pulls which are not proper deadlifts. They also use far sub maximal weights

Can you do a vid on whether you need to retract shoulder blades or not like you do in a bench press but fit deadlift? I have seen people reccomend to me both bit confused

I wonder why that lifter stays so lean? Is there a weight cutoff in competition lifting? I would assume having as much mass as possible would be more

seems to be two major cues everyone and their mothers say not to do....1)low hip / squat mode and 2) shins and knees very forward. maybe we should switch tactics and finally become real deadlifters like this guy!!!
