Why Does the US Not Want Mexico to Vote for Their Own Judges?

Mexico froze relations with the US and Canadian ambassadors after they criticized the Mexican President’s recent proposal for judicial reform. The reforms, which were passed by the lower house of Congress on Wednesday, would elect judges and Supreme Court justices based on a popular vote. The US ambassador said the move would threaten Mexico’s democracy and the Canadian ambassador said the reform could threaten Canadian investments. But why? Kurt Hackbarth, host of Soberanía: The Mexican Politics Podcast, joins the show to explain what this reform is really about and how it would change Mexico’s judicial system.

Why they don't want this to happen?
Because what if they can't buy judges as easy as before? What if their multinationals start having to pay decades of unpaid taxes? What if their mining companies are not allowed to pollute without consequences? What if their bottling companies are not allowed to steal as much water as their want? What if their ingredients start being scrutinized?
In short: what if suddenly they have to actually follow the law???

The USA better stay out of the politics of Mexico because the dominion of the USA pentagon, congress and the government of the USA corrupting all branches of government in the past, the people of Mexico was obligated to migrate to the USA, so yes I blame the USA.

As a Mexican myself its nice to see an American media channel actually talking about the real interest that USA has. It talks about democracy but in the end all they really care about is their money and control. It all comes down to who has their hands on power. If the USA actually cared about people it would start with its own citizens.
