Galaxy S24 Ultra Vs iPhone 15 Pro Max Vs Magic 6 Pro camera comparison rematch after the firmware updates. These phones have been out for some time now, in July 2024 I test them again with the new camera updates to see how they perform. Side-by-side test of video performance, zoom cameras, portrait mode, night shots, and audio quality.

I love my magic 6 Pro so much. On so many occasions, my friends with their iPhone 15 Pro and S24 just put their phones away and let me take the photos. They say they felt robbed by Samsung and apple. Lol. Especially with photos taken with people standing in front of a bright background. The iPhone has it overblown and my Honor just fixes it and both the foreground and background are perfectly exposed.

I have S24 Ultra, but I'm seriously considering getting that Honor Magic 6 Pro as well. That phone is definitely growing on me. Always appreciate your videos.

Really appreciate you doing these follow-up tests, Chris. Many reviewers just review phones within 2 weeks of release and never revisit them and there are often so many updates to improve camera quality. Most phones are on borderline beta software when they're released (not that that's excusable in $1000+ phones) and it's good to see how they perform after they have matured a bit.

Thank you so much, Chris. I ordered the Honor Magic 6 Pro based on your review, and I was a bit hesitant at first. I saw the reviews of the S24 Ultra and the iPhone, and yeah, they might be slightly better phones, but I got the Magic 6 Pro for almost half the price of both.

Magic 6 Pro got only minor camera improvements. I think the harcourt portrait update that hopefully will come soon will bring a huge improvement in terms of portrait shots.
Honor still has the best video footage with Movie Mode and Classic LUT

Also did you notice that sometimes there is no zoom out animation on Honor when switching from Tele to Uwide?

8:01, people don't notice how samsung lose details on the ground most of the time. Even at some scenarios.
But you still managed to pick the samsung photos even most of them detailes has been smoothen out compare to the other 2 like this one.

Although I think the Honor Magic 6 Pro colors are probably somehow oversaturated, especially when I look at recordings of the boats. I like those colors more, looks more like film. All in all very good comparison, many thnaks for that!

I'm still not convinced by Samsung swapping to the 5x optical lens, they should have just upgraded the sensors to a decent 50mp on the existing 3 and 10x lenses

Honor has slightly other colors, especially when you were filming the marina and boats. Which color profile is most true to life? Nice video as always BTW

The camera plays no role in a purchase decision between these three flagships. All three are on the same level

All have pros and cons--no outright winner for me--depends on what you need. With that said then choosing between these three devices will be about the rest of the package and net cost. Personally I would not buy the iPhone with only two months before the iPhone 16, so I would wait until then as the new Pixels will also be in the game and we have a fairer comparison as all will be 2024 phones.

I'm wondering if camera evaluations should be done in reverse: not "who's the best", but "who's not terribad". Iphone has quite a few fails even in video (that background mountain !) where I think it's overall best. Honor has few fails in pics ? Samsung stutters a bit in vid, no fails in pics except low-light ?
Overall for pics in realistic conditions, I'd go with Honor. And Apple for vids.

I'm not into iPhones (pixel 8 pro here), but the video coming out of the iphone just seems so far ahead of what the best android phones can offer. There's something about the video that I can't quite put my finger on (maybe the sharpness/softness, maybe the colours) that makes it look fantastic.

honor seems to have a Fuji-like color tuning....not real...but the sky looks so eye-pleasing

Thanks. I think I will buy s24u. Pretty much all the phones are pretty close. Samsung just have other features aside from camera that I want.
