This knot along with many other items of instruction/advice carries over nicely into traditional bait-casting and spinning fishing techniques. Went yesterday on my local river and caught a 3lb smallie using this knot to "liven up" my bitsy tube. Used this instead of a standard cinch knot.
Thanks, Brian!

Neat little knot Brian. A down side of click type glasses is that you need two hands to put them on, sometimes one of those hands is already employed. Thanks for all the tutorial videos. I have been fishing for 70 years but just starting out on fly fishing (2 days only), and I am loving it.

Thank you for responding to my email about saltwater knots and thank you for the video on how to tie the knot you recommended!!!! The flies I ordered from your shop look great and I can't wait to put it all together in Baja in a couple of weeks!!!!

That is basically a Rapala knot without the final step. Thanks for the tip about the loop length. I had never heard that tip before. Very useful. Awesome as usual.

That is a great knot to use I first saw this knot years ago on the back of a Rapala Crankbait package. They called it the Rapala Knot lol they too recommend it with their crankbaits for better swimming action. Thank you so much for this channel and the great content I am learning a lot about fly fishing and I love it.

Another terrific tutorial ! THANKS Brian !
Im also familiar with that knot and much prefer it to the clinch knot for most any bait . Reason being clinch knots have failed me too many times . Loop or palamar and uni are my most used .

Saw another channel do a break test with various number of twists and just three seemed to be the sweet spot. Actually showed any more than that showed lower break point.

You can watch 10 different videos on how to tie this knot and see 10 different variations (going back UP through the overhand, going back DOWN through the overhand, finishing through the centre of the loop, finishing through the side of the loop, an extra final clinch like a clinch knot (AKA Rapala knot). Somepeople say the tag should be at 90 degrees, some say it should point back towards the lure. I heard Steve Starling say recently that he doesn't trust the loop knot and uses a uni knot to form a loop, but this will close up with tension. So confusing. Which is the correct way?

That's a cinch knot to an overhand knot. Amazing.
