It's good to recognize this from others too. Threads = they want to talk, no threads= not I'm the mood to chat

My stupid ass: "I won't say that because it's all about me and they might think I am full of myself."

As an introvert I greatly appreciate this concept!!! I know I’m an interesting person but small talk doesn’t come easily and it’s harder for me to connect with others.

Step 2: only leave the threads that lead to the conversation you want to have.

This is so helpful for not accidentally creating conversational threading and being forced to stay in conversations that make you wanna stick a pencil in your ear only to realize you don't have one. Found this really helpful

I do this every time I get asked a question. I give an answer, as well as 4 nearly unrelated bits of information to keep the conversation flowing

How old are you?
Me: 35
Him: Well, when I was born my mum didn't know if I was gonna be a boy or a girl, it turned out I'm a boy. She was quite upset with me because she wanted a girl who looked like a boy.
Now that I think about it, I feel like I'm a porcupine. Because I can get quite prickly when people ask me my age. But to answer your question much more succinctly, I was born in 1983, but I wish I was born in the 90s. I'm a Capricorn and my best friend is a Leo. So you work it out.

Since I became really isolated I noticed a decreased social skill capability and these is one of the things that happens where I basically answer questions like an interview and can't think of nothing else to add and hate it. It's a good reminder to keep that in mind and work my way back up to my normal day to day.

For some of us introverts, an answer with zero threads is exactly what we want. 🤗

My issue isn’t this. My issue is dealing with people who don’t have this quality lol

Excellent advice! As a kid i was very social and knew this subconciously but after many years of isolation i lost my social skills. Thank you for reminding me of this concept.

I have ADHD, "conversational threading" is my default setting 😂

So I can bring a conversation to a halt faster by limiting the threads. Got it. 👍

This is such a solid tip.
I knew this unconsciously, but it is so good that I understand it logically too, gonna start using it on purpose.

Speaking from experience, Use the first style of "No-thread" convo in your vocal exams, answering teacher's questions😂😂
