Dash Cam Saved 5000| I was almost charged 5000 for following the traffic rule

This one of the incidents which occurs rarely. I am thankful that I made a decision to buy a dash cam.

Cars these days come with all useless features like Sunroof, Automatic Headlights, Rain Sensing Wipers etc but none of them have provided something like a Dashcam builtin with the Car System. I believe a Dashcam should come built in within all cars. This will not only help the driver of the vehicle but the police as well to make correct judgement.

Happened with me when I was obstructed by a goods rikshaw while crossing a redlight, but at that time I had no dash cam. I argued with delhi traffic police for 45 min. They even wanted to impound my vehicle. At last when I agreed to pay all the fine (while not offering any bribe and neglecting their signs) to get rid of the situation, they gave me challan with court date and took my license for 90 days. on the hearing day court simply asked me to pay 100 rupees and returned my licence instanly. That was in 2017

Yes Tesla has this safety system installed in all its cars. Indian cars specialy tata motors should install this.

This is why I have a dashcam, even though I do not own a car yet.
Everytime I rent a self-driving car, first thing I do, is to setup my dasham on it.

Just yesterday, I saved myself from a fake challah in Bangalore. In my case, traffic policeman himself stopped a vehicle on the middle of the signal, to make all the vehicles to stop, and then asked all the 3-4 vehicles to come to the side, to pay the fine.

After seeing the dashcam, he quickly moved away, and asked me to go. The policeman himself knew that he was playing this game intentionally. Otherwise, he wouldn’t just stop a vehicle in the middle of the crossroads, and then let it go after few seconds, without even asking for any papers, etc.

This is regular feature on delhi roads.Traffic cops are standing like vultures to pounce on you the moment you get into such a situation even without any mistake of yours
