Storage Mistake

Sadly, many of us don't have that option. It's great advice for those who do. My nearest relative doesn't have room for much more than a few days of food & water for me. He's 25 miles away. My next nearest relative is almost 2 hours away. And has a similar space situation. Most friends that I would trust don't have space, either. Or they're using what space they have for their family members.

Renting a storage locker without heat and AC greatly limits what can be stored in it. At least in this area with a record temp range from -9 to 105F. Living on a fixed income, I can't afford the monthly rental of a unit with HVAC.

Again, for those who have the means (space/funds) it is good advice and should be seriously considered.

Absolutely! Unfortunately learned this the hard way. Had 2 years of food stores built up. Home burned down last August. Replacement in progress in an apartment is slow going.

I work as a property manager for self storage. Please dont store any of your food water etc. in a unit, for many reasons.
Also, it's in every contract that those items are prohibited. A reputable place would terminate the contract, rents are non-refundable.
