Reason why Superman couldn’t see through Batman’s smoke grenade is because it’s made of lead. Superman can’t see through lead. Earlier in the movie you can see when he’s making the grenades in white letters “ Pb “ on the grenades. Those are the letters for lead on the periodic table.

I really like how they made the iron batsuit *look* as heavy as it should be, bruces attacks after supes gets kryptogassed the first time are slow but have a ton of weight behind them

The combo Superman throws at Batman after he's hit with the kryptonite grenade is the same combo he used in Man of Steel against Zod. Earlier in the movie you can see Bruce reviewing the footage of their battle, learning his moves and then, in this fight, perfectly countering them. You can even make out a look of disbelief on Superman's face at around 3:01 after Batman blocks everything and pushes through. Amazing movie.

Even after getting gassed and finally regaining his strength, Supes still refuses to just simply laser Batman's jaw clean off and be done with it. That's a level of restraint I certainly wouldn't have if I was him.
