Our Super Beetle project is nearly complete, with the front end finished, we can now get to work on the rear end and we’ll get the engine compartment ready for the engine. Our tech will show you some tips and tricks to installing the firewall and rear engine seals, before installing the rear apron plugs, a decklid stop and a decklid seal. I actually just slid the seal @ tranny from the left all the way around to the right no problem, no need for a tool if the channel is not deformed. Your SB is looking beautiful, mine will be a few more months if I keep focused. Thanks!

Thanks. I bought my old beetle before I knew jbugs existed, but thank god it does. My question this time, how important for the firewall seal to curve down. I see this debated. Mine is in pointing up and my rear tin is binding on it as I install the engine. Its actually pushing hard enough to lift the side tins and affecting the fit. Thanks.

First, happy Friday. :)

Second, hmmm...I have a '68 Euro-spec Beetle and it has the older two-flap style engine seal. Did a previous owner install the wrong seal or did they continue using the two flap seal after '66 in other markets, and will the two-flap seal work okay on '67 and later Bugs?:
